The piano is currently located in central Edinburgh, Scotland. The condition is excellent for its age. It has been in the corner of a rarely-used flat and hardly played for about twelve years. The piano has been resting on wooden trestle tables for this time, however the original leg fittings are included. The chains connecting the foot pedal to the legs are missing. There are a three visible surface wear-and-tear marks of around 1cm square on the black tolex casing, from before I owned it - see pictures right. The keys, mechanisms and electrics are all fully functional and cosmetically almost as new. The piano is still remarkably well in tune but could probably benefit from some fine-tuning, if for professional use - hear this on the Quicktime movie. The piano splits into two parts for moving, using two additional pieces of casing. Each part weighs around 100lbs (50kg) and requires two people to lift it. Production of these instruments ended in the mid-1980s. Precise dating is available independently from Yamaha by calling this US number - 001 800 854 1569 - and quoting the serial number - 9192.
