Rich, mellow, intriguing, intoxicating - Bruce MacGregor's latest album is like a fine whisky in its superlative Highland character. Contemporary in nature, traditional in native essence, this is music to roll around the tongue!
A commissioned piece by Bruce for The Jacobite Experience, a company that runs bus and boat trips on and around the world famous Loch Ness. The music has all been composed to reflect the mood and atmosphere that such a journey inspires.
With a bouncy, country-inspired The Road To Skye, an emotive fiddle ballad for The Nameless Clan, and tunes strongly evocative of the haunting scenery and riotous celebrations of the good folk and good times.
Produced by Phil Cunningham and featuring fellow Blazin' Fiddles members Iain MacFarlane (fiddle) and Marc Clement (guitar), as well as contributions from Phil Cunningham (moothie, piano, cittern, accordion), Ingrid Henderson (harp), Gordon Gunn (fiddle) and Christine Hanson (cello).
"Bruce MacGregor has something of the Midas touch. This has nothing to do with luck; it has everything to do with a deep love and affinity for his music and a unique talent" (Fiddle On magazine)
