As always. Eric Bogle deals with important and current international problems such as the plight of refugees ("Refugee") * Vietnam veterans (Welcome Home") * Chemobyl ("Vanya") * the world recession ("Flat Stony Broke") * child abuse ("At Risk") * man's inhumanity to man (children in this case) ("Mirrors")-and other subjects. On the lighter side he pokes fun at the worst of Irish music in "Plastic Paddy" and at himself in "Big (In A Small Way)".

In all there are fifteen songs in this collection and puts it in the same class as "Voices In The Wilderness", of which Alastair dark of The Scotsman newspaper wrote :-
"Bogle has rarely strung so many good songs together in one package".

The backing band on "Mirrors" consists of Brent Miller, Andy McGloin, lan Blake, John Munro, Trev Warner, Warwick Nottage and Tony Elliot, who provide a nice comfortable acoustic feel to the album.
