They may be a bunch of kids, but what kids, and what a bunch! The 14 members of the ensemble hail from all over the North of England, and meet in Gateshead, under the musical direction of Kathryn Tickell.

Aged between 14 and 19, they play whistle, banjo, flute, cello, fiddle, guitar, accordion, Northumbrian pipes, baritone horn, percussion, bass guitar, harp and viola; vocals by two of the lasses, as well.

Traditional songs, Scottish fiddle sets, a Swedish waltz, sea shanties, and some recently written pieces in traditional mode. An album with a very strong musical sense of place and purpose.
