Fèis Dhùn Èideann is the Edinburgh Branch of Fèisean nan Gàidheal, the National Association of Gaelic Arts Youth Tuition Festivals.
Founded in 1995, they run regular Saturday workshops and an annual four-day tuition festival in February, offering classes in fiddle, step-dance, piping, tin whistle, art, accordion, clàrsach, Gaelic song, percussion, keyboard, guitar, drama, Gaelic language and even shinty!
To celebrate their 10th anniversary the Fèis decided to record some of the music from their classes - Fèis The Music is the result.
The majority of the CD was recorded in one day, 'on location' in a classroom in Tollcross Community Centre. It features over 40 current and past Fèis participants (from 6 years old and upwards), Fèis tutors and the Fèis band.
