Scottish song. Davy has gathered so many great songs onto one album. Dougie MacLean's Caledonia, The News From Moidart by Lady Nairne, and the Barra anthem Kismul's Galley. Hamish Imlach and Davy Steele are represented too.

Davy has a big voice, and plays guitar and mandolin. Ross Cowan supplies pipes.

Born in Dumfries & Galloway, folk singer Davy Holt now lives in the Highlands of Scotland. Davy started entertaining at an early age and turned professional at the age of twenty. His music has been influenced by great Scottish groups such as Gaberlunzie and The Corries, whose blend of patriotic songs, humour and the ability to hold and entertain an audience are evident in Davy’s performances.

Davy has performed all over Scotland, working on the busy tourist circuit each summer and performing in pubs, hotels and village halls throughout the year. In the past Davy has performed at a number of folk festivals including Portpatrick Festival and Milnathort’s Crackin’ Ceilidh Weekend. He has also appeared on BBC Radio Scotland, Heartland FM and Border Television.

"A superb collection that suggests a bright future for young Davy Holt in his pursuit of musical integrity and excellence..." (Dave Macintosh)
