Shetland's great wealth of fiddle players is evident in this beautifully played album. Debbie Scott (fiddle) is joined by John Hutchison (guitar, double bass), 'Peerie' Willie Johnson (guitar) and Alan Clark (accordion).

Born on the remote Shetland island of Papa Stour, Debbie Scott is without question one of Shetland's finest fiddle players and composers, although in live performance terms at least, also one of its most 'reclusive'.

Another protege of the late Dr Tom Anderson, learning fiddle from the age of eight, Debbie performed with local fiddle groups such as The Shetland Fiddlers Society, and with more contemporary bands such as Garster's Dream Band, who toured widely throughout the UK, even making an appearance with the legendary Fairport Convention.

On many of her solo appearances she was accompanied by local guitar legend 'Peerie' Willie Johnson, who also appeared on her album Selkie's Song. She followed in the footsteps of her mentor Tom Anderson by teaching traditional fiddle in a number of Shetland schools. Debbie is also part of her own musical dynasty - her husband Ronnie Jamieson is a talented fiddle player and composer, while their daughters Kaela and Astryd are both talented musicians in their own right.

"A collection that's both beautiful and fun..." (Rock 'n' Reel)

"Beautifully played" (Aly Bain)
