One of the most respected and sought-after musicians in the UK, Dick Gaughan has spent years 'on the road' and made many recordings. For some years his audiences have been requesting a compilation of Dick's favourite tracks and this double CD is the result, showcasing his versions of traditional ballads, 'muckle sangs', contemporary and self-penned songs and guitar instrumentals.

It used to be the custom in Scotland for apprentices to present a piece of work to demonstrate what they had learned of their craft, known as the Prentice Piece. Dick considers that the apprenticeship served within his field of music never ends - he has been serving his for half a century and will continue for the rest of his life.

Dick was voted one of the Top 10 Folk Voices of the 20th Century by listeners of BBC Radio 2's Mike Harding Show.

"This is a selection of tracks I've recorded over three decades, chosen because I think they are as representative a selection as I can make of what I've done." (Dick Gaughan)

"His vocal style is unique, both stirring and spine-chilling." (Rock 'n' Reel)
