Emily Smith is a traditional singer and accordion player from Thornhill, a Dumfriesshire village in the south west of Scotland. She was winner of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician 2002 Award which she scooped during the Celtic Connections Festival.

Emily became interested in songs from the tradition when she first became a student on the Traditional Music course at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. Although piano and accordion were her instruments of choice - Emily is a member of accordion band Koda - it was not long before her fine singing voice was attracting attention and soon traditional singing became the main focus of her performance.

Emily Smith (vocals, accordion) with Ross Ainslie (pipes), Jamie McClennan (fiddles), Sean O'Donnell (guitar) and Neil Cameron (double bass).
