Gavin Whelan is widely regarded as one of the finest exponents of the tin whistle, or penny whistle as it is sometimes called.

Born and raised in Dublin, Gavin’s interest in traditional Irish music began when as a young boy his parents would bring him trips to Co Clare where he learned from the late, great Micho Russell from Doolin.

Gavin Whelan (whistles) with Eoin O'Neil and Mick Brodrick (bouzouki), Ian Lamb, Donnacha Moynihan and Gavin Rolston (guitar), Colm Murphy and Donnacha Gough (bodhran), Finbarr Naughton (mandolin), Zoe Conway (fiddle) and Eogan Lynch (concertina).
