Featuring pipes and fiddle woven with a solid guitar-piano rhythm section. This brilliant young quartet, all accomplished singers, deliver songs and tunes in a strong acoustic style. The band are Gillian Frame (fiddle, vocals) * Findlay Napier (guitar, vocals) * Simon McKerrell (border pipes, uillean pipes, whistles, vocals) and Hamish Napier (piano, vocals).

Gillian comes from the Isle of Arran on the West Coast of Scotland. Hailing from a family of musicians she was introduced to traditional Scots and Irish music at an early age, and began playing the fiddle at age ten. By the age of thirteen she had already recorded an album with family band The Angels Share, during which time were performing regularly at Folk Festivals including Lorient Festival in Brittany.

Since then Gillian has been rapidly increasing experience in all areas of traditional music, using her talents as a fiddle player and singer. This includes performances at Celtic Connections, various appearances on Radio Scotland, and teaching at schools and summer schools throughout Scotland. Gillian is presently in the honours year of the BA (Scottish Music) course at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and intends to make a career as a professional musician.

In January 2001 at Celtic Connections Gillian won the prestigious Young Scottish Traditional Musician Award. The prizes for winning included the TMSA Quaich, a record contract and a invitation to the Vancouver and Mission folk festivals.

"As inaugural holder of the Young Scottish Traditional Musician of the Year title, fiddler and singer Gillian Frame makes her recording debut amid high expectations. Featuring the Arran-born 20-year-old with brothers Findlay and Hamish Napier and Simon McKerrell, it proves to be a strikingly assured and astute piece of work. It covers Scots and Gaelic song, plus Scottish, Irish, Shetland, Cape Breton and original tunes. The uncluttered instrumentation makes for a brightly focused sound, and Frame's breathy yet sinewy singing sounds simultaneously fresh and seasoned." (Sunday Herald)
