The latest album from Hampshire based band Head North, material written by band members to favourites from the Celtic genre.

The band is named after a small group of islands next door to Jura and Scarba and lying in the Minch off the West Coast of Scotland, the title song was written by accordionist Roddy Watt.

With a base in Hampshire but strong roots trailing back ‘North of the Border’, Head North is a quirky mix of old and new – ageing and youthful!

Their repertoire comprises an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary Folk music, much with a Celtic flavour.

The Band; Robert Sword (Musical Director, Arranger, keyboards, guitar, electric guitar, banjo, rhodes, bass, shaker cajon), Hamilton Gross (fiddle), Mike Holgate (mandolin, banjo), Rachel Reed (vocals. bodhran, board, flute), Andrew Rose (acoustic guitar, harmonica), Rachel Thomas (vocals, bass, tin whistle), Simon Thomas (vocals, bass), Roddy Watt (accordion).

"The Head North rhythm and melodious treatment is designed to leave any lover of Folk music wanting another dose! We hope you will enjoy…" Head North.
