A superb new recording from Iain and band, recorded to accompany the 10th Anniversary book of dances for the Saitama Branch of the RSCDS.

In 2010 the band received an invitation to play in Japan at the 10th Anniversary Ball of the Saitama Branch of the Royal Country Dance Society. Unfortunately, the visit had to be cancelled due to the dreadful Tsunami which devastated Japan.

However, the Saitama Branch Committee devised a commemorative booklet of dances to mark their 10th Anniversary and asked the band to record an accompanying CD of music for their members.

Iain embraced the challenge and resulted in a fine selection of tunes, brilliantly arranged.

He researched some Japanese music and songs which he arranged to suit the dances along with Scottish traditional dance music. He composed some tunes especially for the CD adding a Grand March and Auld Lang Syne so that the Saitama Branch have all the music to hold a Ball without a band!

A great album for listening or dancing.

Iain MacPhail (accordion), Brian Griffin ( accordion), Isobel Hodgson (keyboard), Judith Smith (fiddle), George Darling (drums), Alec Hodgson (vocal).
