Manran (a Gaelic word meaning tuneful sound or melody) is the first published collection of Blair's compositions.

A consummate musician with an international reputation, Blair Douglas is also considered to be one of this generation's foremost tunesmiths and songwriters. His work's enduring popularity with music aficionados is eloquent testimony to that, as is the fact that many of his tunes have entered the repertoires of traditional musicians and pipers.

The collection, which has notes in both English and Gaelic, features both songs and tunes including such gems as Kate Martin's Waltz, Nelson Mandela's Welcome To The City Of Glasgow, Skye Glen Waltz, Solus m'Aigh (Light of Hope) and Angels From The Ashes.
