Angus MacColl, Bruce Gandy, Iain Speirs and Murray Henderson - four master pipers recorded in competition at Glasgow’s Piping Centre, during the 2005 Piping Live Festival Invitational Solo Piping Competition.

Featuring a piobaireachd and a march, strathspey and reel selection from each piper.

The DVD includes interviews with each piper and there is an introduction by John Wilson, an authority on piping in general and piobaireachd in particular.

Piping Live! (The Glasgow International Piping Festival) has provided a platform for pipers from a variety of different international piping traditions. Audiences attending events throughout the week will have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to hear some of the worlds’ finest exponents of the different traditions represented.

The Scottish Highland piping tradition is extremely strong with ever-increasing interest and participation worldwide. The 'Masters' event brings together pipers from Canada, USA, New Zealand, Ireland and Scotland who, through their track record in competition, have proved that they are among the world's best Highland Pipers.

Murray Henderson has lived in Scotland since 1973 but is from New Zealand. He is a consistent winner at major events and is a truly ‘master’ of piping.

Angus MacColl hails from Benderloch, in Scotland, and comes from an illustrious piping family. He has a tremendous track record in piping competitions.

Iain Speirs is one of Scotland’s finest young pipers and son of a former Gold Medal and Clasp winner Tom Speirs. Iain also has many successes in piping competitions under his belt.

Bruce Gandy is from Canada, is a double gold medallist who spent 15 years with the 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band and is in great demand as a recitalist, adjudicator and teacher.
