Seamus Begley's accordeon traces a characteristically ferocious path through West Kerry tunes and songs, accompanied by instrumentalist Tim Edey.

Seamus Begley, from Baile ngall (Ballydavid) on the Dingle peninsula, is a legend in Irish music. His partnership with the Australian/Irish guitarist and producer Steve Cooney led to arguably the most exciting duet in Irish music ever, and their album Meiteal is considered a classic. Seamus has a voice from the gods, and his accordeon style has been copied by many box players for its remarkable energy, soul and power which many people believe is unmatched in traditional Irish music.

Tim Edey is regarded by many as one of the finest guitarists and multi-instrumentalists on the Celtic music scene, having played, toured and recorded with most of the biggest names in the Celtic music scene including Michael McGoldrick, Lunasa, Mary Black, Sharon Shannon, Frankie Gavin, Sharon Shannon, Brendan Power, Session A9, Altan, Steve Cooney and Capercaillie's Donald Shaw and Charlie McKerron.

Also featuring Rita Connolly, Shaun Davey, Eoin Begley (concertina) and Méabh Begley (vocals).

This song is not featured on this CD.

"He's back, with a fire in his belly that'd set flame to the western seaboard... The finesse of the arrangements, the eclecticism of song choices and the riches mined by his collaborators elevate this gloriously ragged-edged collection to the top drawer. Edey and Begley have forged a partnership that caresses the tiptoeing Night at the Fair set as beautifully as it does the haunting A mhrán na Leabhar and the powerhouse polka set, Polcaí Eoin..."
