Contemporary West Highland folk music played by Andrew Stevenson (smallpipes, Highland pipes) and Angus MacPhail (accordion).

Angus and Andrew together make up the young Scottish traditional duo Skipinnish, coming from the Island of Tiree and the hamlet of Achnacarry in Lochaber respectively. This does not mean they are strangers to fashion, irony and complexity. Both have BA degrees in Scottish music from the RSAMD.

Angus's primary instrument is the piano accordion which he studied under Ian Muir, while Andrew's excellent grounding in the Great Highland Bagpipe has been given polish and refinement unter the tutelage of Allan MacDonald of Glenuig.

"The debut CD of Skipinnish eschews drum programmers, bowed harps and saxophones. It is really out there on its own." (Norman MacLean)

"Sure they'll have you dancing all night long, but there's much, much more - Skipinnish bring you the ultimate West Coast ceilidh." (Mary Ann Kennedy)

"Andrew Stevenson's piping is raw spirited and uncontrived" (Allan MacDonald, Glenuig)
