For over a decade, Solas has been recognized as one of the most influential Irish-American folk groups. After a personnel change prior to their last release, when Kilkenny-born vocalist Mairead Phelan joined the band, they have re-emerged unified once again.
Solas deliver the raw instrumental virtuosity, the power, rhythm and dynamic vocal blend that no other group since The Bothy Band has mastered. This album showcases the band at the peak of its power.
Seamus Egan (guitar, banjo, flute, whistles, bodhran), Winifred Horan (fiddle), Mick McAuley (accordion, guitar, vocals), Eamon McElholm (guitar, piano, vocals) and Mairead Phelan (vocals) with Chico Huff (bass), Ben Wittman (drums, percussion), Catriona McKay (harp) and John Anthony (bodhran, percussion).
