Téada (tay-da) - meaning 'strings' in the Irish language - are a group creating a soulful, stately sound with a subtle approach to adornment.

Their debut CD features the uniquely sweet fiddle-playing and vocals of Sligo musician, Oisín Mac Diarmada, the flowing flute and harmonic guitar playing of London-born John Blake, rhythmic bouzouki and banjo-playing from Seán McElwain of Monaghan, and the thoughtfully-crafted tune settings are sensitively enhanced by Tristan Rosenstock on bodhrán. An expanded 5-member line-up features accordionist Paul Finn from Laois.

John Blake (flute, guitar, piano, whistle), Oisín Mac Diarmada (fiddle, piano, whistle, vocals), Seán McElwain (banjo, bouzouki, backing vocals) and Tristan Rosenstock (bodhrán, backing vocals).

"Téada are a new and fresh face in Irish music... this is a band to watch out for." (The Irish Voice)
