The theme for the 2014 Tattoo is Our Home, Friends and Family.

As part of the exciting year of Homecoming, hundreds of Commonwealth participants are set to feature in this year's Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Bands drawn from Her Majesty's Royal Marines, The Royal Regiment of Scotland and pipe bands from around the globe, with bands from Trinidad and Tobago, Zulus from South Africa and Maoris from New Zeland.

Music sets include Dougie Maclean's The Gael, a exciting version of Mark Knopfler's Going Home with some 130 pipers, 60 drummers, 40 fiddlers (Hjaltibonhoga fiddlers group from Shetland) plus other musicians, dancers creating an awesome sound!

Including Traditional favourites, The Skye Boat Song, Scotland the Brave, Wild Mountain Thyme and the poignant refrain of the Lone Piper.
