(February 2002) 50 tracks - 4 CD set

The Queen's Royal Pipers, Stonehaven Pipe Band, Clan Sutherland Pipe Band and Kinross and District Pipe Band. One CD per band - a collection of popular favourites.

CLAN SUTHERLAND PIPE BAND
The band was formed in November 1988 by Pipe Major J.M. Banks, former Pipe Major Scots Guards. This was helped by sponsorship from the airline Dan Air which gave the band its name until the airline was taken over in 1992. The band attracts players from all over England - they have many young players in the band. The motto of the Clan Sutherland is Sans Peur, meaning 'without fear'.

KINROSS AND DISTRICT PIPE BAND
The Kinross and District Pipe Band was formed in summer of 1946. During its long history the band has always been keen to travel to competitions near and far and has won the Grade 3 World Championships twice. Through the town twinning scheme the band has travelled to France for various occasions. They played at the Celtic music festivals in Lorient, Brittany four times. In 1994 they attended the Celtic Congress held in Cornwall.

STONEHAVEN PIPE BAND
The Grade 1 Stonehaven Pipe Band began on its road to success by joining the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association and entering into the world of competition. Since that time it has progressed steadily up through the ranks and has established itself as one of Scotland’s premier pipe bands. As the band has grown and developed, it has cultivated its own distinctive musical style. You will hear, as you listen to this recording, music which covers the complete Celtic folk tradition.

THE QUEEN'S ROYAL PIPERS
Journey Through Scotland is a wonderful collection of pieces giving you the full flavour of Scotland and the country’s representative sound of the pipes and drums. The Pipe Majors Roger Huth and J.M. Banks are former household pipers to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. The post of Piper to the Sovereign is relatively recent, dating back to the early years of Queen Victoria’s reign.
