About Us

In 2005 Music Scotland won the Scots Trad Music Awards Services To Industry Award, for indispensable services to the traditional music industry in Scotland. We are members of the Federation Of Small Businesses. Our music samples are licenced by PRS For Music and PPL UK.

Making A Purchase

Browse or search our catalogue and choose items that you wish to add to your shopping basket. After you have finished your selection, click on Checkout and you will be asked for delivery and card payment details. If your delivery address is outside the UK, at the final payment stage you will be given a choice of equivalent totals in UK Pounds Sterling, US dollars or Euros. Backorders

If any of your items have gone out of stock at the last minute, we will backorder them for you. You will always have the option to cancel your backorder for a refund, if you would rather not wait. We will keep you informed with a weekly email.

Tax Charges

UK VAT (Value Added Tax) at the standard rate of 20% applies to UK and EU customers only. All other orders for delivery worldwide are VAT-free.

Credit Card Security

Card payments are processed securely online by WorldPay, a well-established and highly secure service. You may alternatively use your verified PayPal account through the same checkout process. Credit or debit card numbers are not known to us but are already stored by PayPal or collected by WorldPay, who are both fully compliant with PCI-DSS (the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). We guarantee to make good any losses resulting from fraudulent credit card activities arising from a transaction on our site. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Privacy Policy

Cookies are used on our site to keep track of the contents of your shopping basket once you have selected an item, and to collect anonymous tracking information using Google Analytics. We retain the contact information you provide through the ordering process in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Information we collect is used only to facilitate delivery of your order and we do not disclose any information to third parties. If you choose to subscribe to our Newsletter, your email address is stored by YourMailingListProvider and used by us only for the purpose of one Newsletter message each month. Please Contact Us if you have any concerns about your privacy.

Returns Policy

  • You have the right to cancel all or part of your order at any time before it is despatched by us, for a full refund of your original payment. Please just let us know by email or telephone.
  • If your order has already been despatched, you may return any unwanted item(s) to us UNOPENED within 7 days of receipt. In this case we can refund your original item price, but not any associated outbound or return postage charges.
  • Please note that we cannot accept returns of non-faulty items which have had their shrinkwrap removed.
  • You should check the PAL/NTSC format and Region compatibility of DVDs with your specific player before purchasing.

Return Procedure:

  • Please use only First/Second Class (UK) or Standard/Economy Airmail (international) for items returned to us for any reason. We do not offer compensation for the higher cost of other carriage services.
  • Faulty items will be checked after return, so please include a detailed description of any fault (eg track 6 skips after 30 seconds) - we must be able to confirm specific faults. Your card will be refunded for your return postage costs if a fault is confirmed, and a replacement sent wherever possible.
  • To ensure safe transit, item(s) should be wrapped in the original delivery package, or one of better quality.
  • If you have already opened your package, it would help us if you could enclose a printout of any related email message from us, and/or your receipt. Otherwise please leave the package sealed, with our return address marked.
  • You may be able to 'refuse' an unopened package with the postal service, for free return back to us.
  • US and other Non-EU Customers: for UK Customs purposes (the green sticker), please declare your package as "Returned Goods" and the value as less then US $20 / UK 15.
  • If you require a replacement title, we can only arrange to send this if the current price is the same or less than the original title ordered. Otherwise, you should order any replacement items separately, at any time.
  • We do not store your payment card details for security reasons, and so cannot charge extra payments on your behalf.
  • Any refund will occur within 7 days of order cancellation or receipt of returned items, on the credit or debit card that was originally used to complete the transaction.
  • This policy does not affect your statutory rights.
