Narrated by Charlton Heston, Tom Conti and Hannah Gordon, with interviews with HRH Prince of Wales, Phil Collins, Jackie Stewart and several war veterans. Also featuring Capercaillie's Karen Matheson and Donald Shaw, and songs by Isla St Clair.

The use of the bagpipes in war is very ancient among the Celtic people, and this film traces the story from the Braveheart days of Wallace, to the siege of the Alamo and the Battle of the Clans, to the carnage of World War One.

DVD2: Call To The Blood traces the effect of the bagpipe from the battlefields of World War Two to the present day. Its haunting sound awakens a distant past in people around the world - the 'Call To The Blood' is strong.
