This was the first 12" LP recorded by Jimmy Shand, at Leeds University in 1958 on the occasion of the Fifth Festival of Scottish Dancing held by the Leeds Scottish Country Dance Club.

Full-length dances capture the vibrant spirit of the evening.

The music is bright and infectious and gives a taster of what it was like to have attended a dance led by Jimmy Shand and his Band. This Parlophone recording has been digitally enhanced for CD and re-released for the enjoyment of a new generation and for the nostalgic reminiscences of those, somewhat older, who remember the record when it was first released.
