The pianist and composer Muriel Johnstone (BMus, LRAM) hails from Berwickshire but now resides in North America. She is well-known on the Scottish dance music scene both as a solo player and with numerous fine musicians and bands, and was musical director for the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society for many years.

Muriel has recorded with Alasdair Fraser, Chris Duncan, Marian Anderson, Judith Linton and many others. She has several books of her tunes published, as well as many CDs.
