(March 2004) 13 tracks

The third album in this series of top class piping, recorded live at Lowland and Borders Pipers’ Society concerts. An interesting mix of types of bagpipe, traditions and piping styles, through the expertise of Anne Marie Summers, Stephen Tyler, Finlay MacDonald, Fraser Fifield, Rory Campbell, Malcolm Stitt, Xuan Muniz and Simon Bradley.

The recordings are mainly from a concert in Edinburgh Academy held in 2002, with additional tracks from a previous concert in the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Glasgow, in 1999.

Finlay MacDonald plays Border and Highland pipes, while Fraser Fifield plays Border pipes and saxophone. Both are graduates of the RSAMD in Glasgow. Each has released a solo album and both are widely experienced folk band members.

Anne Marie Summers plays Low D pipes and G Border pipes. Stephen Tyler plays the unusual Hurdy Gurdy. Together, as Misericordia, they perform medieval music. In their three sets they play music for a Running Dance, a Jumping Dance and a Round Dance.

Xuan Muñiz plays Asturian bagpipes and Simon Bradley plays fiddle. The duo are both key members of highly-rated Asturian group Llan De Cubel, who have toured the world extensively. Xuan is also a pipe band player.

Rory Campbell plays Border and Highland pipes, with Malcolm Stitt on guitar on one track. Rory and Malcolm have been members of the popular group Deaf Shepherd since its earliest days - both also have experience with other leading Scottish bands.
