LINDA McCANN ARTWORK
Award
winning artist Linda Garden (or Linda McCann as she is now) has
been getting a lot of recognition in the folk music world of late with
her new and exciting intrepetations of traditional music characters. Linda's
work exploded on the scene with the design of the plasticine model on
the front of Leo's CD If Anyone Can. This
created a real buzz within the music industry as it was such a unique
and striking image.
Linda
also brought out a Christmas card featuring Edinburgh musicians made of
plasticine and this proved to be very popular with sales going all over
the world.
Linda was invited to be artist in residence at Celtic Connections 2001. Linda was soon to be spotted at many concerts doing quick sketches of the musicians or singers and making quick plasticine models on the spot, much to the bemusement of artists and audience.
Linda
is currently working on a calendar of plasticine models which will be
released in July 2003. Featured artists include Flook, Lunasa,
Kate Rusby, Altan, Malinky, Alison Brown, Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain,
plus more to be announced. This is sure to be very popular and will make
