Solo competitor, lecturer, composer, author and journalist, Pipe Major Bruce Campbell began piping as a young boy, taught by Pipe Major John M MacKenzie at the legendary Queen Victoria School in Dunblane, Scotland. Originally from Edinburgh, he comes from a long-established Argyllshire piping family.

In 1971 he enlisted as a piper in the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, and the following year was part of that band when its phenomenal recording of Amazing Grace hit the top of the charts.

Since then he has served as pipe major of The Sultan of Oman’s Royal Guard Brigade, The Royal Australian Regiment and a number of civilian bands.
