The band formed in 1952 and made their first recording in 1956.

They were hugely popular, recording on Decca's Scottish Beltona label, then Pye with Lonnie Donegan producing.

They had a hit with "Salty Dog" in 1960. Touring all over the UK, they played on until 1963.
