He draws from his own experiences, and reflects on his own journey through a period of struggle.

David Francey was born in Scotland but moved to Canada with his family as a boy of twelve.

He worked across Canada in rail yards, construction sites and the Yukon bush. He never imagined that he would at the age of 40, earn a living from his music.

Writing and recording his material has shaped the last fourteen years of his life, with great success.

He is a three-time Juno Award winner and won many prestigious Socan Folk Music Award as well as taking home the Grand Prize in both the International Acoustic Music Award and in the Folk category for the John Lennon Songwriting Award.
