A unique debut album from duo Jamie MacDonald (fiddle) and Christian Gamauf (pipes).

'The Pipe Slang' features the traditional music of the Hebrides and includes songs from Tiree as well as self-penned material and tunes from further afield.

The musical partnership of the Scottish pipes and fiddle is one that is quintessentially and historically Hebridean.

Jamie MacDonald and Christian Gamauf have taken this format and incorporated influences from places such as Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia and Asturias in the north of Spain, putting their own stamp on the music.

This dynamic duo met while living and studying on the Isles of Uist and began playing together at local concerts and events.

After travelling to Asturius on a musical and cultural exchange project, together with performances at Ceòl on the Croft, Celtic Connections and Celtic Colours Festivals, they started working on their debut which resulted in this energetic and original album 'The Pipe Slang'.

This album is dedicated to the late Murdon MacLeod, a great supporter of traditional music in the Hebrides and beyond.

Jaimie MacDonald (fiddle, backing vocals), Christian Gamauf (Highland pipes, Border pipes, D small pipes).
Guest Musicians; Jack McRobbie (guitar), Adam Young (piano), Anna Rachel MacDonald (clarsach, vocals), Anna WEndy Stevenson (viola), Sophie Stevenson (step dance on Track 5).
