Live Act Of The Year - MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards 2009

(March 2009) 10 tracks: The Burrian * Winter Moon * Horizontigo / Alright in the Held * Operation Knoydart / Salty Boys * Banks of Marble * Stephen's Leaving / Plot No.12 * The Master * Frank and Flo's / An Tobar * Temple of Fiddes * Dear Prudence.

Twice winners of Best Group at the Radio 2 Folk Awards (2008 and 2009), Lau are back with their highly anticipated second album, Arc Light.

The follow-up to their debut Lightweights And Gentlemen, Arc Light is Lau at their best, with a collection of self-penned tunes and songs which highlights their unique take on folk music.

Highly regarded musicians in their own right, the combined talents of Kris Drever, Martin Green and Aidan O'Rourke make for a formidable and all-conquering trio.

The new album sees Kris Drever debut some of his own songs for the first time (including the single Wintermoon) and there is a Mojo-commissioned Beatles cover as a bonus track.

"Lau are so special..." (The Guardian)

"Beyond the realms of technical, traditional music literacy, Lau display a delicious propensity for danger..." (fRoots)
