The Seer is a musical work commissioned by Fèis Rois and was performed for the first time at Celtic Connections in Jan 2017.

The music depicts the life and prophecies of Coinneach Odhar, the Brahan Seer, a 17th Century prophet who spent much of his life in Easter Ross.

All music and words composed by Lauren MacColl with the exception of Tàladh Choinnich Odhar (words by Rachel Walker, music by Lauren MacColl/Rachel Walker).

The album features a talented Highland line-up. Lauren is joined by Megan Henderson (piano / fiddle (Breabach), Mairearad Green (accordion / pipes (The Poozies), Anna Massie (guitar / mandolin (Blazin' Fiddles), Rachel Newton (vocals / harp / viola (The Furrow Collective, The Shee) and James Mackintosh (percussion (Shooglenifty).
