A debut solo album featuring the talented flute, uillean pipes and whistle player Louise Mulcahy.

This collection of inspired traditional Irish music showcases her versatility and mastery of her instruments.

Louise is the only person in the history of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann to have won 4 senior All Ireland titles on the same day.

Louise comes from a musical family from Abbeyfeale, Co Limerick and grew up steeped in traditional music.

Her father Mick (accordion, melodeon) and sister Michelle (concertina, fiddle, piano, harp), both play and together they previously recorded a few albums.

Includes a full colour informative booklet (22 pages).

Louise Mulcahy (flute, uillean pipes, whistle), Michelle Mulcahy (piano, harp), Colm Murphy (bodhran).

"Louise is one of the finest musicians of her generation. Her choice of material and her approach to the melodies, coupled with tasteful inventiveness, makes this a very welcome entry to the growing catalogue of traditional Irish flute music." Matt Milloy.

"In this album there is a display of the full panoply of method (strong, consistent tone, precise intonation, judiciously applied falling line-ends, 'filler' triplets, tumbling, rolling, dark, bluesy depth and sparkling, yelping high register), there is a profound past-to-present inventory of sources in her noted collectors (Edward Bunting, Francis O'Neill, Donal O'Sullivan and Breandan Breathnach), her composers (Turlough Carolan, Muiris O Dalaigh, Padraig O'Keeffe, John Brady, Paddy O'Donoghue and Vincent Broderick), and in her influences (John McKenna, Tom Morrison, Paddy Taylor, Jim Donoghue and Patsy Hanly). And there is nothing random or gratuitous in these choices, as the ample sleeve notes attest. All of those players and activists are units in the construction of Louise Mulcahy's personal experience, culture and shaping, and mark her as a gracious and brilliant talent within the revival enclosure marked by the '4 Ts' of tunes, travel, technology and taste." Fintan Vallely.
