A superb debut album from three gifted string players Patsy Reid, Marit Fait and Catriona MacDonald, exploring Nordic and Celtic traditions.

Combine two fiddles and a Latmandola (a Nordic mandola), the result is as bewitching as their name VAMM suggests.

'Vamm' is an old Shetlandic word meaning 'to bewitch or entrance'.

A mix of contemporay tunes, 19th Century reels, modern pieces and the group's own compositions, the strength of the melody always at the forefront of their playing.

Patsy Reid (fiddles, viola), Marit Fait (mandola), Catriona MacDonald (fiddles).

"VAMM is a collaboration between Patsy Reid of Breabach, Catriona MacDonald from Blazin' Fiddles, and Marit Fait - two fiddles and a latmandola (which is a Nordic mandola, similar to a mandolin or bouzouki). The trio live up to their name. They are mesmerising, interweaving tunes and melodies to delight the listener". Karin Horowitz, Bright Young Folk.

"Sumptuously sophisticated music fuelled by a shared passion and exquisite discernment for beautiful tunes." Sue Wilson
