Vol 1 - featuring both March, Strathspey & Reel and Medley performances from the top-placed seven bands in the final of the Grade 1 event at the World Pipe Band Championships 2008 (St Laurence O'Toole - Medley only).

Pipers and drummers from sixteen nations converged on Glasgow for the 2008 World Pipe Band Championships. More than 40,000 spectators filled Glasgow Green to see the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band from Vancouver, Canada, take the top spot.

The World Pipe Band Championships have been operating regularly since 1930, when the Scottish Pipe Band Association (today known as the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association) was formed.

For competitive bands, the title of World Champion is highly coveted, and this event is seen as the culmination of a year's worth of preparation, rehearsal and practice.
