The name of Battlefield Band has been in the forefront of the tremendous resurgence of Scottish music and song that has been going on since the mid - 1970's. The band have pioneered the use of such diverse instruments as pedal organ, cittern and synthesiser in concert with the more usual fiddle and Highland and Northumbrian pipes as an integral part of their sound. They have broken down many artificial barriers, reaching an ever-widening audience both at home and abroad. At a time when musical quality is much more important than categories Battlefield Band's vocal and instrumental prowess combine with an inventiveness which makes their music exciting, creative and accessible to all.

"Beauty courses through it and there's also an underlying fervour and real passion, though not of a knees-up, swing-kilt style." (MELODY MAKER)

"An excellent showpiece for the band's singing, instrumental and songwriting talent." (BELFAST TELEGRAPH)

Award: Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik 1981.
